Obstetrics is the field of study concentrated on Pregnancy, Childbirth and the postpartum period. As a speciality Obstetrics is combined with Gynaecology which is the study of the female reproductive system, its functions and relating disorders.

Mr Onsy is a Consultant Gynaecologist with over 40 years of experience. He joined Medical school in 1970 and graduated in 1976. He trained and worked in several major hospitals in the United Kingdom including teaching Hospitals in Cardiff, Westminster Hospital and Guys and Lewisham Hospitals in London. He also served Queen and Country as a Doctor in the Royal Army Medical Corps for five years before joining Kingston Hospital as a consultant in 1993.
Mr Cortes trained as an Obstetrician & Gynaecologist in the London Deanery and was awarded membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 2009. Following his general O&G training, he completed three years training and qualified as a Sub-specialist in Urogynaecology with King’s College Hospital/Guy’s & St Thomas Hospital in 2013. He was appointed at Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust as lead in Urogynaecolgoy and has a broad expertise in the conservative and surgical management of female urinary incontinence and pelvic floor vaginal reconstruction.
During his training, Mr Cortes spent three years at the Royal Free Hospital as a clinical research fellow and was awarded an MD (res) by University College London in 2013 on pelvic floor injury following vaginal delivery. He has several publications in reputed national and international medical journals and has presented his research in National and International meetings. He remains research active in collaboration with Kings College London and is an active member of the Research & Development committee in the IUGA. His areas of expertise include overactive bladder (sensitive bladder), pelvic floor vaginal prolapse and reconstructive surgery, female urinary incontinence, and childbirth injury. Mr Cortes is also experienced in all aspects of general gynaecology including laparoscopic surgery (minimally invasive surgery), and diagnostic and operative hysteroscopy.
Nick Anim is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist and Honorary Senior Lecturer at Kingston University London. He is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians & GynaecologistsHe had postgraduate training in obstetrics and gynaecology in the London North West Thames Deanery and worked at Chelsea & Westminster hospital, Queen Charlottes & Chelsea hospital and St. Mary’s Hospital. He undertook clinical research fellowship studying the causes and methods for predicting pre-eclampsia culminating with the award of a PhD by Imperial College London.
He has expertise in general and high risk obstetrics including medical complications of pregnancy, particularly hypertension disorders of pregnancy. He encourages normality of pregnancy care and delivery but he also has an open-minded approach to discussing other options of care.
He sees women with a broad range of gynaecological disorders including menstrual disorders, polycystic ovaries, recurrent miscarriages, pelvic pain, fibroids and prolapse. He performs minimal access, abdominal and pelvic surgical procedures. He also offers well-woman gynaecological checks-up.
He has an active research programme focusing on hypertensive disorders of pregnancy and other medical complications. He is currently supervising PhD research projects at Kingston University London and has been External Examiner to University of London Higher Degrees Committee. He has several scientific publications, contributed chapters to specialty textbooks and a reviewer for several peer-reviewed journals. He is member of a number of national and international professional societies.
