Mr Laszlo Zolczer is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in Croydon who specialises in Upper and Lower Limb Orthopaedic & Trauma Surgery. Mr Zolczer was born in Hungary. His medical under-graduate training took place at the Semmelweis Medical University, Budapest and he qualified in 1985. His post-graduate surgical/orthopaedic-trauma training commenced in Hungary and completed in the UK. He undertook his subspecialist training at The Robert Jones & Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Institute, Oswestry, Shropshire and afterwards, at Croydon University Hospital/St Georges University Hospital, London.

Since 1995, he has continued to work and develop his Orthopaedic and Trauma surgical practice at Croydon, gaining advanced experience in all aspects of upper and lower limb surgery. Subsequently he was appointed the position of Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon. Mr Zolczer has been in his current full-time position as Consultant since 2001.

He is a specialist, approved by all mayor private insurance providers like Bupa, AXAPPP, Vitality, WPA, Cigna, Aviva.Mr Zolczer is a Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon at Croydon University Hospital with over 25 years’ experience who specialises exclusively in upper and lower limb orthopaedic and trauma conditions, sport injuries.

Mr Zolczer provides operative and non-operative treatments for conditions of the elbow-wrist-hand and the knee-ankle-foot. He offers procedures in the following areas, mainly as a day case, where patients can go home on the day of treatment.

Upper limb:
Common tendon conditions, joint pain which requires steroid and local anaesthetic injections or tendon release surgery, sport injuries, fractures, including:

  • Tennis/ Golfer’s elbow,
  • De Quervain’s wrist pain (inflamed tendon conditions)
  • Elbow bursitis (swollen elbow)
  • Wrist/hand ganglion cyst
  • Carpal tunnel syndrome
  • Trigger finger
  • Dupuytren’s finger contracture
  • Injection treatment for inflamed joints and tendon conditions
  • Hand, wrist and elbow trauma treated conservatively
  • Fracture fixation and removal of the implants

Lower limb:
Common tendon conditions, joint pain which requires steroid and local anaesthetic injections or tendon release surgery, sport injuries, fractures, including:

  • Knee arthritis for injection and physiotherapy or if indicated Arthroscopic debridement,
  • Knee pain, injuries, “overuse syndrome”
  • Knee cartilage (meniscus) tear for “key-hole” surgery (arthroscopy)
  • Patellar tendinopathy (jumper’s knee),
  • Foot/ankle common tendon conditions, joint pains which need steroid and local anaesthetic injections or surgical intervention
  • Ankle/foot ganglion cysts
  • Tendo Achilles symptoms
  • Foot surgery for toe problems
  • Bunions, overlapping/cross-over toe deformities
  • Heel pain, “Policeman’s heel”, plantar fasciitis, heel spur
  • Morton’s neuroma
  • Ingrown toe nail problem
  • Foot & Ankle trauma, fracture fixation and removal of the implants

Where required, specialist diagnostic tests, interventions will be carried out most of them on site, including: X-rays, Dynamic Ultrasound Scan, Ultrasound Guided Steroid Injections, MRI or CT scans, SPECT CT scan, Nerve test (EMG), Blood tests.Professional Memberships:  British Orthopaedic Association, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, British Medical Association.

Mr Pal Ramesh

Mr Ramesh underwent his higher surgical training in Orthopaedic surgery in the South East Thames region including Guy’s & St Thomas’ hospitals in London and completed a fellowship in Preston / Chorley hospitals. He was entered on to the Specialist register for Orthopaedic surgery in 2005. Mr Pal Ramesh was awarded the prestigious international American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle society’s (AOFAS) travelling fellowship in 2007 and DePuy travelling fellow in 2006. This allowed him to visit and train with a number of Foot & Ankle surgeons within North America including Columbus, Galveston, Houston, Minnesota, Toronto, Rochester, Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Washington and Baltimore. Ramesh is involved in clinical research and academic development and has presented his research at Orthopaedic conferences both nationally and internationally. The most recent one being the AOFAS conference in Florida 2013, where he delivered an invited lecture on mid-foot tendon pathology.

Mr Mark Curtis
Mr Mark Curtis Orthopaedic & Trauma Surgeon

Mark is a Consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery with a special interest in shoulder surgery and sports injuries. He graduated from St George’s Medical School in 1984 and completed his postgraduate training in London and Baltimore. His NHS practice is based at Kingston Hospital NHS Trust in South West London.

I am an honours graduate in neurobiology and read medicine at Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School, graduating in 1990. My postgraduate training on the St George’s Hospital rotation included a 12 month fellowship in hand surgery within the department of plastic surgery at the Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead.

I was appointed consultant orthopaedic and Hand Surgeon at Kingston Hospital in 2002 and have extensive experience in the field of Hand and Wrist Surgery.I have carried out 10,000 hand and wrist procedures in the last 13 years as a consultant. I am an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons.
